Her emphasis on nuance, bhava, and manodharma continues to guide Gayathri’s musical journey in meaningful ways and will play a central role in her ongoing growth as a performer.
Earlier, Gayathri trained with Vidwan S. K. Anil Murthy, a dedicated and versatile musician, and a sincere disciple of Sangeetha Kalanidhi Madurai T. N. Seshagopalan. His teaching blended methodical precision with a deep appreciation for creativity and expression, particularly in the areas of manodharma, voice culture, and laya. His analytical approach, clarity of instruction, and keen ear for aesthetics added significant depth and maturity to Gayathri’s musical thinking and performance.
Her initial years were shaped under the warm and insightful guidance of Vidushi R. A. Ramamani, whose strong grounding in classical idioms and innovative spirit sparked her early musical curiosity, and Vidushi Uma Sundar, under whose patient and sustained guidance she built a strong foundation in both technique and repertoire. Vid. Uma Sundar’s steady mentorship over many years played a key role in nurturing Gayathri’s early interest and long-term commitment to Carnatic music.
Gayathri is backed by a rich tradition in Spirituality & Music. She was initiated into spirituality by her parents U. Ve. Dr. Srinidhi K Parthasarathi & Smt. Rekha SD. Dr. Srinidhi has been teaching and rendering discourses on topics covering Vedas, Divyaprabandham, Ramayanam, Sriman Narayaneeyam , Bhagavatham, Bhagavad Gita, etc.
Gayathri has given vocal recitals at various reputed venues including Margazhi concert-Vani Mahal, Chennai, Ananya Sabhangana (Bangalore), Sri Krishna Swamy Temple, Malleshwaram, Lalitha Ganapathy Temple, Bangalore, Sri Kanyaka Parameshwari Temple, Malleshwaram, the SEVA Temple (Sringeri Education and Vedic Academy), Milpitas, Sri Kamakshi Community Centre, Santa Clara, Sri Vallabha Maha Ganapathi Centre, San Martin to name a few. She has also presented sangeetha upanyasams on diverse stages, with topics such as Purandara Dasa Charitre, Srinivasa Kalyana, Nama Mahime and others. These upanyasams uniquely blend devotional storytelling with classical music.
Her contributions have been recognized with awards from the Bangalore Gayana Samaja, Sri Avadootha Datta Peetham,Vidya Vardhaka Sangha , Indian Octaves, Texas to name a few. Her music is noted for its clarity, bhakti-oriented approach, and fidelity to classical aesthetics. As she continues to build her concert repertoire across varnams, kritis, and manodharma aspects, Gayathri remains committed to the traditional Carnatic path under the guidance of her guru.
