His foundational training as a tabla player under Pandit Sanjay Mukherjee established a strong sense of rhythmic structure and improvisational vocabulary. Parallel training in harmonium from Pandit Sankar Chatterjee enabled him to develop a complementary melodic sensibility, supporting both solo and accompaniment contexts. A significant aspect of his musical development lies in his vocal tutelage. Under guidance from Guru Shri Sidheshwar Mukhopadhyay, Pandit A. Kanan, Shri Sukumar Mitra, and Arun Chatterjee, he gained exposure to the stylistic depth of Hindustani classical music, particularly the khayal tradition.
