Sur Nishad

Based in Ranchi, Jharkhand, India, Sur Nishad is a dedicated cultural group whose primary goal is the promotion and preservation of Indian Classical Music. They regularly organise highly regarded classical music sessions called "Baithaks"—frequently held at venues like the Jawaharlal Nehru Kala Kendra—featuring emerging and veteran vocalists, sitarists, flute artists, and tabla players. Many of their musical gatherings are thoughtfully dedicated to honoring the memory of eminent music gurus like the late sitarist Shri Prashant Thakur.
